We started this afternoon off with a short 4D movie about dinosaurs, witch was more creative. After that we had about 30 minutes before we had to go to the lab were we learned about how Mystic Aquarium trains their animals to do tricks. They also teach them how to position themselves that then make it easier for them to perform medical examination and tests. When animals know how to lay in a certain position it makes taking blood easier for both the veterans and the animals because in the wild they have to put the animal in a cage and confine them so they don’t move so they then can take blood. But if the animal is trained how to lay in that position then it is much easier for both the animal and the veterinarians. We then learned about how marine biologist can determine how global warming can affect an animal's immune system and how they defend themselves from diseases. Lastly we learned about DNA how to separate it. We then did a lab on separating DNA and used technology that we would not have access to in our classrooms.

Today, we visited the Mystic Aquarium. The outdoor beluga exhibit was awesome, and the sea lion show was exciting and interactive. Charlotte the sea turtle was empowering because she got through her injury and can swim with the help of a buoyancy aid on her shell. An interesting fish I saw was the paddlefish, it looked like a mini basking shark. Even though it’s an aquarium, there was an exhibit about dinosaurs and one about frogs as well. I saw the fattest frog I have ever seen! It was wider than it is long.
